Anyway, on this page I will start with a Basic Buttercream recipe and I will post other tried cakes as well.

Basic Buttercream Recipe

Butter Cream flowers with a Russian Decorating Tip |
Ingredients you will need:
- 2 sticks of butter (some people use shortening, not my favorite)
- 4 cups or 1 lb powdered sugar
- 1-2 Tbs milk, water, heavy cream, or I use half and half
- 1 tsp flavoring (vanilla essence or other flavor)
a pinch of salt will help cut down on the sweetness
Beat the butter till smooth and fluffy.
Sift the sugar into the butter.
Beat on low speed till the sugar is well incorporated.
Add 1-2 Tbs of the liquid and flavoring (1 spoonful at the time)
Beat the mixture on medium high for about 5 more minutes.
You are welcome to beat it for 10-15 minutes. However, the longer you beat it the more air you will incorporate into the icing giving you more bubbles in the mixture.
Cover the bowl with a wet towel to prevent crusting of the buttercream.
